ABEOKUTA — The Akinlade/Ogundele Political Group has formally declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the senatorial aspiration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was contained in a press statement read by the former Chairman of ALGON in Ogun State, Dr. Mojeed Ekelojumati Oladele, during a media briefing held at the Neugate Hotel, Agbeloba, Abeokuta, this afternoon.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Oladele said the decision followed a careful review of the performance of the Tinubu-led administration, noting the President’s “bold economic reforms, infrastructural renewal, student loan initiative, and expanded social welfare programs” as evidence of strong leadership and a commitment to national progress.
He further highlighted the “visible developmental strides” recorded under Governor Abiodun’s leadership over the past six years, citing major road projects, improved healthcare services, inter-local government connectivity, and the establishment of a world-class airport that has boosted Ogun State’s economic standing.
According to the statement, the group described Governor Abiodun as “a performing, loyal, and dependable party man” who deserves the right of first refusal for the Ogun East Senatorial ticket in 2027. It commended his role as Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and his consistent dedication to party unity and governance excellence.
“We are confident that a Senator Dapo Abiodun will be a bridge builder, a stabilizing force, and an experienced hand in the 11th Assembly,” the statement read. “He will promote party cohesion, enrich parliamentary processes, and attract development to Ogun East and the entire state.”
The group also reaffirmed its “unwavering support” for President Tinubu’s second-term bid and pledged to mobilize members across all 236 wards of Ogun State to ensure victory at the party primaries and the general elections.
The statement was jointly signed by Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, Ph.D., Dr. Mojeed Ekelojumati Oladele, and Hon. Rotimi Rahmon, Ph.D.
