Ogun 2019 Election is getting more interesting as loyalists to Governor Ibikunle Amosun have moved to Accord party according to a highly placed source.

Our Correspondent visited the new

AmosunSource close the governor said ”Our Leader paid N54 million for the new secretariat at Lemme along Abiola way and we have been instructed to move”

The governor recently had his wings cut short by those that matter in the APC when his candidate for the Ogun State governorship election in the state in 2019, Mr. Adekunle Akinlade had his name removed at the party’s primary which the governor supervised.

The National Working Committee of the party in Abuja which supervised the primary did not recognise Amosu’s candidate and subsequently recognized the emergence of Prince Dapo Abiodun as the candidate of the party for the election in 2019.Adekunle Akinlade is married to former Miss Nigeria, Chinenye Ochuba and is a member of the House of Representatives, while Prince Dapo Abiodun is an Oil Mogul.

Trouble started for the governor years back when he felt he was far bigger than those who helped harness his potentials and took for granted, allegiance and political loyalty.

Soon after President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in, the governor found his way to tell him what he wants to hear, even as the president appreciated their friendship which dates back to their days in the All People’s Party, APP, All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP, and the CPC before joining hands with like-minds to found the All Progressives Congress, APC, through which platform he won election as President of Nigeria.

The controversies that led to the resignation of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun who was Amosun’s Commissioner for Finance in his first tenure was one of the biggest blows he received from this administration as all efforts made by him to prevail on the president not to collect the resignation from Adeosun failed, proving that the president may have been tired of his meddlesome touch on his government.

If what is at play in Ogun State sails through in Abuja, then Ibikunle Amosun may have lost the opportunity of becoming the political godfather he had always craved for and political relevance may be brewing to elude him after his tenure as governor.
