A police inspector, Haruna Mohammed, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Ogun State on Saturday, February 15, 2025. The incident occurred at Super G Royal Hotel, located at 11 Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, in the Ifo local government area of Ogun state. Where the officer had checked in with an unidentified woman in the early hours of the same day.

According to a police memo, the hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, discovered the inspector’s lifeless body at approximately 8:52 am after noticing that the room door was unlocked. The woman who had accompanied Mohammed was nowhere to be found. The hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, reported the incident to the police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman had visited the hotel reception at around 6:00 am to request table water before fleeing the scene. The police have described Mohammed’s death as “unnatural,” and his body has been moved to Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe for further examination.

Among the items found in the room was a police camouflage uniform bearing the rank of Inspector and a name tag inscribed with “Haruna Mohammed.” The hotel manager was brought in for questioning, while the unidentified woman remains at large.

The police memo stated, “On receipt of the report, detectives visited the scene, photographed the area, and removed the corpse. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be communicated.”

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the fleeing suspect to come forward as they intensify efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the inspector’s death.
