In a significant move to enhance electricity supply and drive economic growth, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, *Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo*, has commissioned two groundbreaking solar electrification projects in Robiyan, Mosafejo, and Ibaragun communities. The projects, which include a 500Kw Isolated Mini Grid under the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) NEP Programme and a 500Kw Intercontinental Mini Grid under the GEAPP-RMI Innovation Pilots Programme, are set to transform the lives of residents in the area.

The projects, covering four acres of land in Ibaragun, aim to provide reliable and sustainable electricity to the communities, fostering economic activities and improving the quality of life for residents.

During the commissioning ceremony, *Engr. Henry Ureh*, CEO of Darway Coast Solar Energy, highlighted the extensive power capabilities of the projects. He urged the community to maximize the opportunities presented by the electrification initiatives, which are expected to boost small businesses, education, and healthcare services.

In his address, *Hon. Kusimo* expressed gratitude to community leaders, traditional rulers, and stakeholders for their unwavering support. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to replicating similar projects across Ifo Local Government, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and proper maintenance.

“These projects are a testament to our dedication to fulfilling our campaign promises and driving developmental advancements in Ifo Local Government. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that every community benefits from reliable electricity and other essential amenities,” Hon. Kusimo stated.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including *Engr. Abubakar Aliyu*, Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, and *Engr. Bisi Dosunmu*, Ikeja Electricity Business Manager. The royal presence of the *Olu of Ibaragun, Oba Olufemi Kujoore*, added grandeur to the occasion, alongside other esteemed guests such as the *Bale of Mosafejo, Chief Timothy Adeniyi*, Ogboni Chiefs, and community leaders.

The successful implementation of these solar electrification projects underscores Hon. Kusimo’s visionary leadership and his commitment to improving the lives of Ifo residents. The communities of Robiyan, Mosafejo, and Ibaragun are now poised to experience a new era of development, powered by clean and sustainable energy.
