IPOKIA – In a move aimed at fostering harmony and improving operations, the Ipokia Local Government held a conclusive meeting with the Koko Market Committee on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025.
The meeting, which took place at the council secretariat, served as a platform to table and address the market’s various challenges. Both parties engaged in discussions to resolve areas of disagreement within the market and with the local government authorities.
Following the deliberations, an agreement was reached on the terms of operation for the market. Both the local government and the market committee are committed to strengthening cooperation and ensuring smooth relations going forward.
A key resolution from the meeting was the committee’s commitment to ensure the continuous maintenance and cleanliness of the market. To achieve this, it was agreed that a dedicated committee would be established to oversee the proper sanitation and general upkeep of the facility.
This resolution is seen as a positive step towards enhancing the market environment for traders and customers alike, and for ensuring a collaborative relationship between the local government and the market community.
