ODEDA – In a move described as “laudable” and warmly received by employees, the Odeda Local Government Council has commenced the payment of end-of-year bonuses to all its staff.
The initiative, implemented under the administration of the Council Chairman, Hon. Adeyemo, PhD, has sparked widespread appreciation within the workforce. Staff have expressed their gratitude through numerous encomiums and commendations directed at the council’s leadership.
The Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Odeda Chapter, Comrade Sholanke, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Wednesday. He credited Hon. Adeyemo with “once again demonstrat[ing] exemplary leadership,” highlighting the positive impact of the gesture on staff morale during the festive season.
The statement culminated in a local victory cheer, proclaiming “Odeda Gbayi… O gbeyè!”—a Yoruba expression signifying strength and triumphant progress.
This annual bonus distribution is seen as a key welfare policy, underscoring the council’s commitment to recognizing the contributions of its workforce as the year ends.
