Ogun APC Stakeholders in Odogbolu Endorse Governor Abiodun for 2027 Senatorial Race

Odogbolu – Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odogbolu Local Government have unanimously endorsed the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, as their consensus candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District seat in the 2027 National Assembly elections.

The endorsement was formally ratified during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Wednesday, attended by party leaders, elected officials, and representatives from all wards across the local government. The motion for endorsement was moved by the Member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Ogunbanwo Omo-Iwa, and was immediately seconded by the Odogbolu APC Chairman, Akogun Muyiwa Idowu.

In a collective resolution, the stakeholders cited Governor Abiodun’s “exceptional leadership, transformative achievements across Ogun State, and unwavering commitment to even development” as the primary reasons for their support. They expressed confidence that his experience and proven track record in governance make him the ideal representative to advance the interests of Ogun East at the national level.

Speaking on behalf of the local government’s ward chairmen, Comrade Olaolu, Chairman of the Odogbolu APC Ward Chairmen Forum, stated that the governor’s unifying approach and delivery of tangible projects have earned him massive grassroots goodwill. He pledged the total commitment of the party’s structure in Odogbolu to mobilise support for the governor’s senatorial ambition.

The stakeholders also highlighted key achievements of the Abiodun administration, including extensive road infrastructure, youth empowerment initiatives, healthcare upgrades, and educational reforms, many of which have directly benefited communities within the senatorial district.

The meeting was attended by a broad spectrum of party leadership, including the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Diya; the Governor’s Liaison Officer, Hon. Ladejobi Shuaib; Hon. Akeem Adesoye
Leader of the house and All Ward Councillors,Comrade Arowolo Adebola,
Chairman of the Chairmen Ogun East Senatorial District. Arowolo Adebola, a member of the State Judiciary Commission, Hon. Oyinkansola Cole; former lawmakers, local government officials, and all ward-level officers including chairmen, secretaries, youth and women leaders.

The Odogbolu APC chapter declared that it would lead advocacy efforts across the senatorial district, with plans for further consultations with other local governments in the coming weeks.
