Abeokuta – In a move to strengthen administrative operations and policy implementation, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of nine new Permanent Secretaries and six senior education officials.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya. He stated that the appointments are aimed at reinforcing governance across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and are based on merit, professionalism, and experience.
The new Permanent Secretaries include Mr. Abdul-Azeez Oludare Ajidele from the Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Yetunde Soyoye-Baker from the Ministry of Agriculture, and Engr. Kehinde Olukayode Akintomide from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, among others.
In the education sector, Governor Abiodun also appointed two Principals-General and four Headteachers-General to fill vacancies within the Teaching Service Commission and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). The appointees are drawn from Remo, Ijebu, Yewa, and Egba divisions.
According to the Head of Service, the selections followed a rigorous screening process, which included interviews and on-site assessment of candidates’ schools based on academic performance, facility maintenance, and staff relations.
The newly appointed officials have been charged to demonstrate dedication and contribute to the state’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda. A swearing-in ceremony will be conducted by the governor at a later date.
