The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is far from being over, as a leading House of Representatives aspirant in Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Abidemi Rufai on Thursday, September 13 concluded plans to dump the party.

It was reliably gathered that Rufai had earlier in the week held series of meeting with the leadership of Action Democratic Party, ADP and Africa Democratic Congress, ADC in Abuja where he was promised automatic ticket if he eventually dumps APC.

Though, he was said to have kept his next political move to his chest, it was further scooped that a meeting was held in Ijebu Ode with all his campaign coordinators in the three local governments of Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North East where he briefed them about the latest development.

Information has it that no fewer than five thousands youths would be ditching the party alongside Rufai.

Sources in the area said the youthful aspirant prominently known around town as Omo Mayodele was disenchanted about the process which led to the emergence of the consensus list in Ogun state.

The decision according to a source close to him, who did not want his name mentioned, followed exhaustive consultation among the constituents, especially bordering on the political feud among other aspirants in the area who prefer that there should be direct primary to pick the party choice

“Yes, I am telling you in confidence that Rufai may likely defect to ADP or ADC in the next one week. We are waiting for him to finally take the decision to leave the party”

He stressed that Rufai had during a meeting with the constituents said his decision to dump APC followed the crisis in the party, an aftermath of the consensus arrangement by Gov Ibikunle Amosun.

The source explained that the House of Representatives aspirant had lamented that the stakeholders in the area ignored his genuine complaint that all the aspirants should go to the field before resorting to consensus arrangement.
