Police in Zamfara state have arrested 20 armed bandits and recovered seven rifles at various locations, state commissioner of police Mr Kenneth Ebrimson has said.
Mr Ebrimson who briefed newsmen at the command headquarters in Gusau said the armed bandits were mopped up by the IGP’s Special Tactical Squad in collaboration with the state command.“The armed bandits were arrested using the intelligence led policing and very soon the suspects would paraded before the general public. But, their seven rifles seized are displayed for everyone to see,” he said.
He said the command has commenced investigation that was why they would not disclose the identities of the suspects then, so as not jeopardize the cause of the investigation.
“We are soliciting for useful information from the members of the public and the this and will go a long way in helping us to apprehend criminals, he added.
