ABUJA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to return to the Nigerian capital tomorrow, cutting short his planned European vacation to resume his official duties.
The President, who departed for France on September 4th for his annual holiday, was initially scheduled to divide his time between France and the United Kingdom. His early return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16th, marks an unexpected conclusion to his time abroad.
The vacation was not without diplomatic engagement. Last week, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris. A statement from the State House confirmed that the two leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation between their nations and agreed to deepen the bilateral partnership for “mutual prosperity and global stability.”
No specific reason was given for the President’s decision to end his vacation ahead of schedule. The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy.
