Borno State’s contingent at the just concluded National Sports Festival, *Gateway Games*, has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its participants, Aishatu Suleiman, upon arrival.

The sad incident was announced with a prayerful tribute: *”Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un* (Surely, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return). May her gentle soul rest in Jannatul Firdaus.”

No further details have been released regarding the circumstances of her passing. The sports community has expressed condolences, with many calling for support for Team Borno during this difficult time.

The National Sports Festival, held in Ogun State and tagged *”Gateway Games,”* brought together athletes from across Nigeria. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
