Two suspected thieves are recuperating at a hospital after they were caught and nearly mobbed to death minutes after stealing from a herbalist.

A herbalist in South Africa has boasted that it was his ancestors, who ensured that the two thieves, who stole from his house were caught within minutes and nearly mobbed to death.

According to South Africa’s Daily Sun, the herbalist, Thandabangoma Myeza, 42, said, he was looking through the window and watching as the thieves fled.

He said that he immediately prayed to his ancestors, asking them to expose the thieves.

Within minutes the thugs were caught by community members, who almost mobbed them to death.

The herbalist from Spooktown in Bekkersdal said he was grateful to the ancestors.

Thandabangoma said he was sleeping when the thugs broke into his yard,

“I woke up and peeped through the window. I saw two men running away,” he said.

“I didn’t want to chase them but went to my indumba to burn the madubula and other muthi.”

Thandabangoma said within seconds he got answers.

“Thugs shouldn’t steal from sangomas (herbalists) because they’re inviting bad luck.

“Look at these thugs. They’re in the hospital now and in pain and will soon be in jail,” said Myeza.

Bekkersdal police spokeswoman, Sergeant Linki Lefakane told Daily Sun a case of theft and possession of stolen property has been opened.

She said the two suspects, aged 18 and 30, were receiving medical attention
