Abeokuta – Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, has extended warm felicitations to the women and girls of Ogun Central on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

In a heartfelt message, Senator Salisu praised the strength, resilience, and remarkable achievements of women in the district, aligning with this year’s theme, *“Empower, Inspire, Elevate.”* He highlighted the enduring legacies of iconic women who have shaped history and continue to inspire generations.

The Senator paid tribute to trailblazers such as *Madam Efunroye Tinubu*, a pioneering entrepreneur and political leader; *Madam Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti*, a fearless advocate for women’s rights and social justice; and *Iyalode Alaba Lawson*, the Ìyálóde of Egbaland and Yorubaland, whose leadership and dedication to education and community development remain unparalleled.

He also celebrated the contributions of *Chief (Mrs.) Titilayo Ajanaku*, the first female Local Government Chairman in Nigeria and former Special Adviser to President Obasanjo on Women’s Affairs, as well as *Chief Adebisi Edionseri (Cash Madam)*, a symbol of entrepreneurial brilliance and innovation.

Senator Salisu further acknowledged contemporary female leaders in Ogun State, including *Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu*, the Honourable Chief Judge of Ogun State; *Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni*, the first female Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly; and *Hon. Adijat Adeleye*, Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.

He commended the countless women of Ogun Central—mothers, educators, entrepreneurs, farmers, artisans, and leaders—for their tireless efforts in uplifting families, communities, and the nation. “Your strength, resilience, and contributions are the backbone of our society,” he stated.

The Senator called for a renewed commitment to creating a world where every woman and girl is empowered to reach her full potential, inspired to dream boldly, and elevated to take her rightful place in leadership and decision-making.

Concluding his message, Senator Salisu saluted the women and girls of Ogun Central for their courage, strong character, and determination, describing them as an inspiration to all.

“Happy International Women’s Day! Empower. Inspire. Elevate,” he declared.
