In a recent development, the legal case between the Commissioner of Police and popular musician Habib Okikiola Badmus (also known as Portable and Saheed Osupa have been formally withdrawn.

The withdrawal follows an intervention by stakeholders in the music industry and other prominent figures, who appealed for peace between the parties involved. The nominal complainant, Okunola Saheed Osupa, through his legal representatives, Opalekunde & Co., officially filed for the discontinuation of the case, stating that the matter had been resolved amicably.

In a letter addressed to the court, the solicitors confirmed their client’s instruction to withdraw the charges in the interest of public harmony. However, they also urged the court to issue a stern warning to the defendant against any future defamatory statements, publications, or actions that could harm the reputation or business interests of the nominal complainant.

The case, which had drawn attention within entertainment circles, highlights the role of mediation in resolving disputes outside litigation. Legal representatives for the nominal complainant emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and professionalism in the industry.

Signed by Ahmed Jimoh Opalekunde, Esq. and Ajape Abdulrasaq, Esq., the withdrawal marks the end of the legal confrontation, though it remains unclear whether any formal settlement was reached privately.

More details are expected as reactions trail this resolution.
