The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Board has announced the appointment of Prince Adebayo Apelogun, National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), as the Amirul Hajj for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

A statement issued on Friday by Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, revealed that Apelogun will lead a 14-member ad-hoc welfare committee tasked with ensuring the smooth coordination and welfare of pilgrims from the state.

Sheikh Ishaq Olorungbebe was named as the committee chairman, while other members include prominent Islamic scholars and community leaders such as Sheikh Lawal Iskeel (Sugar), Sheikh Shile Rufai, Imam Sabeeq Aladi Ibrahim, and Alhaja Alarise Korede Fausat, among others.

The board charged the committee to carry out their duties with diligence and commitment, prioritizing the comfort and safety of Ogun State pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.

The 2025 Hajj pilgrimage is expected to draw thousands of Nigerian Muslims, with Ogun State working to ensure a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience for its contingent.
