The Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the reconstruction of the Laderin-Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station Road in Abeokuta.

Sokoya gave the commendation on Tuesday during the official commissioning of the road in Abeokuta South Local Government Area. He described the project as a landmark achievement that would significantly ease movement and enhance connectivity for motorists, commuters, and other road users.
Recalling the previous poor state of the road, the AMORAN Chairman noted that the route was once a no-go area avoided by transporters. He praised the governor’s intervention in rehabilitating the critical access road.
The commissioning formed part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of Ogun State. During the event, Governor Abiodun announced plans to inaugurate 20 additional roads across the state. He also revealed that construction was advancing on the major 100-kilometre Sagamu Interchange–Papalanto–Opele Road, described as a critical East-West connector.
The governor emphasised the strategic importance of the Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station, which links Ogun to Lagos, emphasisedorthern states, and noted that the new access road aligns with his administration’s multimodal transportation agenda.
Other speakers at the event, including the Commissioner for Works and a former federal lawmaker, Chief Bode Mustapha, highlighted the road’s potential to boost commercial activities and benefit surrounding communities, including the MKO Abiola Trade Fair Complex.
