In a significant show of unity and solidarity, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikenne Remo have thrown their weight behind Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye’s aspiration to represent the constituency at the National Assembly. The endorsement came during a meeting held at Hon. Adeleye’s residence in Isara on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, where ward women leaders, youth leaders, and ward secretaries gathered to express their support for his candidacy.
The stakeholders, in a unanimous decision, praised Hon. Adeleye, popularly known as “Apagun,” for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and his consistent support for the people of Ikenne. They acknowledged his pivotal role in strengthening the APC in the area, particularly since the inception of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration.
“Hon. Adeleye has never neglected us. He has always carried us along and remains a strong pillar of support in Ikenne APC,” the stakeholders stated. They emphasized his track record of effective representation, describing him as the best choice to fly the party’s ticket and achieve greater milestones at the national level.
The stakeholders also expressed their preference for a familiar and trusted leader, affirming their decision to rally behind Hon. Adeleye. They described him as a reliable ally and friend, pledging to actively participate in his campaign to ensure his victory. Their support, they noted, stems from the belief that his leadership would bring continued progress and development to the constituency.
During the gathering, tributes were paid to Governor Dapo Abiodun, whom they hailed as the best thing to happen to Ogun State in governance. They specifically highlighted the strategic siting of the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport in Ikenne Remo Local Government as a transformative project that would benefit the people.
The stakeholders also honoured the late Honorable Mrs Otunba Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (a.k.a. Ijaya), describing her as the best representative Ikenne Local Government has had in recent times. They expressed confidence that Hon. Adeleye would uphold her legacy of service and not let the people down.
In his response, Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support and solidarity from the stakeholders. He assured them that he would not take their trust for granted and pledged to continue working closely with them to advance the interests of the constituency.
“I am committed to delivering the dividends of democracy and ensuring that every community benefits from quality representation and progressive policies,” Hon. Adeleye said. He promised to build on the legacies of his predecessor, focusing on development, youth empowerment, job creation, and opportunities for the people of Remo Federal Constituency.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination, as stakeholders and Hon. Adeleye vowed to work together to achieve victory and bring more progress to the constituency.
