IPOKIA – In a message commemorating Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, the Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, has called for sustained unity and collective effort from citizens to drive national progress.
The Chairman, popularly known as Cornerstone, described the milestone as a celebration of the nation’s “remarkable journey of resilience, growth, and shared hope,” acknowledging challenges while affirming Nigeria’s standing as a “beacon of strength and diversity in Africa.”
In his statement released on Tuesday, Hon. Avoseh emphasized that the nation’s unity is its most critical asset. “As we celebrate 65 years of independence, let us remember that our greatest strength lies in our unity,” he stated. “Nigeria is a blessed nation with abundant resources, vibrant people, and immense opportunities.”
He outlined his administration’s commitment to supporting broader government initiatives, saying, “Here in Ipokia, we are committed to complementing the efforts of both the Federal and State Governments in promoting peace, infrastructural development, and empowerment for our people.”
The Chairman directly appealed to the people of Ipokia, encouraging them to be patriotic, law-abiding, and actively involved in nation-building. He stressed that the true meaning of independence is realized through positive contributions to both community and national development.
Reflecting on the day’s significance, Hon. Avoseh stated that the anniversary should serve as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s past heroes and as a motivation for current and future generations to continue striving for a greater Nigeria.
He concluded with a congratulatory message to all Nigerians, saying, “On behalf of the government and people of Ipokia Local Government, I extend heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians on this milestone. Together, we shall continue to build a Nigeria of our dreams — a land of peace, prosperity, and progress.”
