The Secretary-General of the Oladipupo Adebutu’s Democratic Organisation, Mr Sunday Solarin has further made clarification on the campaign activities of Senator Buruji Kashamu and other candidates in his group, describing it as a blessing in disguise for the Governorship ambition of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu in Ogun State.

Ladi AdebutuSpeaking on a programme, Sunrise Daily monitored on Channels Tv on Friday, December 21, 2018 Solarin said the rallies organised by Kashamu and his group will continue to be a complimentary effort to the party, as Hon Adebutu remains the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

Solarin further argued that even the name Kashamu is not known to the party national secretariat as a candidate of any position, as it is only in the purview of the NWC to screen, supervise and declare a candidate a winner of party primaries and not the other way round.

“You cannot continue to arrogate the roles of the National Chairman of the party to yourself. Buruji Kashamu has continued to decimate the office of the national leadership of the party, as he also operates his activities outside the party constitutions.

On the issue of Engr Bayo Dayo still laying claim to the position of the party chairman in Ogun state, Solarin also said, a Supreme Court judgement which gave power to the highest organ to dissolve and organise a fresh party congress where the needs be has so far overtaken the existence of the Bayo Dayo and his co travellers.

According to him, the only leadership of the party in the state recognised by the national secretariat of the party is the one headed by Hon Sikirullahi Ogundele, adding that the new party is now legitimately backed by law of run the activities of the party in the state.

The Secretary General also made a further clarification on the Court of Appeal judgement which recently set aside a Federal High Court hitherto obtained by Buruji on which basis the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC has been relating with the latter.

“By this historic judgement of the appellate court, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu remains the legitimate and authentic Governorship candidate in Ogun state,” Solarin added.
