In a show of solidarity and compassion, the Member representing Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode, and Odeda Federal Constituency, *Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba*has extended his philanthropic gestures to inmates of the Leper Colony in Iberekodo, Abeokuta, by donating essential food items in celebration of *Eid al-Fitr*. The lawmaker also extended support to Christian residents observing the Lenten season as part of his inclusive welfare initiatives.

The donation, which included bags of rice, gari, beans, and other staple foodstuffs, was delivered to the colony on Tuesday, bringing relief to the residents ahead of the festive period. This intervention aligns with Hon. Osoba’s recent constituency-wide food distribution program aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including Muslims observing Ramadan and Christians participating in Lenten fasting.

Expressing their gratitude, the beneficiaries at the Leper Colony offered prayers for the lawmaker’s continued success. One of the inmates, Mallam Ibrahim Adeleke, said, *”Hon. Osoba has shown us that we are not forgotten. We pray that Allah rewards him with good health, prosperity, and more opportunities to help the needy.”

Hon. Osoba, known for his grassroots-oriented leadership, reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development, stating, *”Our responsibility as leaders is to ensure no one is left behind, especially during sacred periods like Ramadan and Lent. This is not just about giving; it’s about showing love and upholding the dignity of every individual.”

Political analysts have commended the lawmaker’s consistent humanitarian efforts, noting that such gestures strengthen community trust in elected representatives. Constituents have also praised his accessibility and responsiveness to their needs, further solidifying his reputation as a people-centric leader.

This latest intervention adds to Hon. Osoba’s growing list of empowerment programs, including educational scholarships, healthcare support, and small-business grants, which have positively impacted thousands in his constituency.
